Home Remedies For Clogged Ears




Clogged ears can be irritating and very painful so if you are suffering from it, you will need relief as soon as possible. Up to 90 percent of the times when a person from ear pain it will be due to clogged ears and that can mean extra accumulation of fluids or ear wax in the ear. The good news is that there are home remedies which will take care of the clogging in the ears.

Home Remedy #1 – Hydrogen Peroxide

If you are suffering from clogged ears, you can apply a single drop of hydrogen peroxide. You should not do more than a drop into the ear canal. You should be able to see the excess ear wax oozing out in the form of bubbles. Warm olive oil will also do the work when hydrogen peroxide is not available. The olive oil will make the ear wax soft, making clogged ears easier to clean.

Home Remedy #2 – Hot Shower

Another solution for clogged ears is the use of a hot water shower. Getting in the shower for a time of about 15 minutes in hot water will relieve the discomfort that clogged ears produce. The steam in the shower should help loosen the ear wax that is causing the pain. If the clogging is severe, you can use antihistamines to relieve the pain. Using a couple of drops of glycerin should also provide some relief.

You should never ignore clogged ears, as not taking care of it can lead to infections. In the worst case scenario, an ear infection can cause impaired hearing. You should also never use sharp objects to remove the wax from your ears. If the home remedies presented here do not give you enough relief, then you should talk to your doctor. That is especially true in the case of infants as removing may be a little bit more challenging with them.
