Home Remedies For Removing Ink Stains

Ink stains can affect your carpets, walls, clothing and floors and they can be from a pen or a permanent marker. There are home remedies for ink stains which you can try whether the stain is new or it has been on the surface for a while. Some of the home remedies for this type of stains can be found as easy as going to your pantry. Sometimes even without a need of heading to a drug store or grocery store.

Home Remedy #1 - Hairspray

One of the most common home remedies for ink stains is the use of hairspray. You can use hairspray to remove ink stains from almost any surface including upholstery, clothing or tiles. All you need to do is saturate the stain with hairspray. You should then let the hairspray used sit for a few minutes and then wipe away using a soft cloth. Hairspray will remove permanent markers better than most remedies.

Home Remedy #2 – Dish Washing Detergents

Dish washing detergents will also help you remove ink stains, especially those that have not set yet into the material. You should use detergent without fragrances or bleach so that you reduce the residue during the cleaning process. You should mix a very little of the detergent into a cup of warm water. By scrubbing the mix onto ink stains by using a soft cloth, you will be able to remove the stain.

Home Remedy #3 – Lemon Juice and Salt

Ink stains can also be removed by using lemon juice. You can use the lemon juice directly onto the stain and then scrub, rinse and dry the material. Finally, you can also use salt with a cleaning solution. This is especially effective when used on porous materials and old stains that have been on the material for a while. The solution of salt, lemon juice and dish detergent can make removing stains a lot easier.
