Do you have irritated eyes? Do you wish it would stop, but
aren’t sure exactly how to get the pain to go away? Are you trying to avoid
going to the doctor and having unknown chemicals flushed into your eyes? Well,
there’s good news for you. You can actually help reduce, and perhaps even
eliminate your eye irritation with some home remedies.
Eyedrop Mixtures
Although it may be really easy to stop at the store and buy
an over-the-counter eye drop mixture, you can also create some of your own! One
involves the simple recipe of milk and honey. First, warm the milk and then add
an equal part of honey to your cup. Mix the concoction together until the honey
is no longer chunky, but rather a smooth part of the milk. Using an eyedropper,
apply about 2-3 drops to your eyes daily. For another mixture, mix 1 tablespoon
of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water. While using a cottonball, gently wash
your eyes with the liquid. Or, baking soda can work wonders as well. Mix ¼
teaspoon baking soda with 1 cup water and fully flush into your eye.
Liquids
Many different liquids can be used to help restrain
irritated eyes. One would be Witch Hazel. Simply pour the liquid onto a
cottonball and gently push onto your eyelids. Its many healing properties just
might do the trick! Or, mix Aloe Vera juice with water. Once the mixture is
frozen, place it over your eyes. This will create a soothing effect for the
irritability. For another remedy, make a cup of chamomile tea and filter it a
few times through a fine strainer. Make sure you can’t see any chunks, because
you don’t want them to go into your eyes! Let the mixture sit until it becomes
lukewarm. Then, gently wash your entire face with it, making sure to pay
special attention to your eyes. This will help reduce the pain and soothe your
irritation.
Objects
A very surprising method for healing irritated eyes includes
metal spoons. First, take four metal spoons and place them in water. Let them
chill in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes, and remove. Place one spoon curve
downward over each eye, leaving two to switch when they warm. Continue doing
this until pain and swelling decreases. Another extremely popular remedy to
cure irritation in the eyes would be to make cucumber eye masks. In order to do
this, cut two very thin slices of cucumber, and chill in the refrigerator.
Close your eyes, and place over your eyelids for about 10 minutes.
